Solar hope for the next generation - SWO supports school in the Philippines

Sustainability doesn't start with technology - it starts with people. That's why SwissWatt One AG (SWO) is not only committed to innovative energy solutions, but also where clean energy makes a real difference in everyday life: in the classrooms of the next generation.

A ray of hope in Bamban: solar power for 12 new classrooms

In cooperation with the La Rose Noire Foundation we have in July 2025 108 solar modules to the Sto. Niño Elementary School in Bamban, Tarlac (Philippines). The modules are currently being installed and will supply a total of twelve classrooms with reliable solar power. Six of these rooms are currently still under construction - this is exactly where we come in to provide the children with a better learning environment in the future.

Especially in tropical regions with high temperatures, teaching in poorly ventilated rooms can become a burden. Clean electricity can be used to power fans, lighting and, in future, IT infrastructure - a decisive step towards Equal opportunities through energy.

Video insight into our project

This short video gives you a moving impression of our commitment on site:

More than technology: food for body and soul

Our support does not end with the power supply. Together with the La Rose Noire Foundation, we regularly participate in the initiative "Share a Bread". Simple Packed lunch with drinks to children who otherwise often come to school without breakfast or lunch.

What sounds like a small gesture has a big impact: a satiated stomach promotes concentration, reduces social inequality in the classroom and enables children to seriously pursue their education. For many, this package is more than a snack - it is a symbol that they are seen and supported.

Why we care about the Philippines

Our three managing directors Stefano, Jens and Mike don't just know the region from reports - they have lived in the Philippines themselves for several years. This personal understanding of the local challenges makes our commitment particularly credible and targeted.

Thanks to the close cooperation with local partner companies and their local employees, we identify other schools that could benefit from access to solar power and education. This is how we create Long-term and scalable effectwhich goes far beyond a one-off donation project.

Energy is responsibility - we take it on

As a Swiss company, it is important to us to combine technology and humanity. Projects like the one in Bamban show how much impact can be achieved when sustainability holistic thinks - ecologically, socially and culturally.

We thank the La Rose Noire Foundationour logistics and installation partners as well as the entire SWO team for the implementation of this heartfelt project.
